Smoke exhaust valve and fire damper actuator

TEL: +86 18031731288

The fire damper actuator is an important part of the building fire protection system. It is responsible for controlling the opening and closing of the fire damper to automatically cut off the path of fire spread when a fire occurs, protecting the safety of buildings and personnel.

Working principle of fire damper actuator

The fire damper actuator usually contains the following key parts:

Thermosensitive element: This is one of the core components of the fire damper actuator, usually made of fusible metal or other temperature-sensitive materials. When the ambient temperature reaches the preset melting temperature, the temperature sensing element will melt or deform, thereby triggering the action of the actuator.

Transmission: The transmission is responsible for converting the signal triggered by the temperature sensing element into a mechanical action to close the fire damper. This usually includes a series of mechanical parts such as levers, gears, springs, etc., which can quickly and reliably close the fire damper in place.

Control system (optional): In some advanced fire damper actuators, an electronic control system may also be included. This system can receive signals from fire detectors or communicate with the fire control center for more precise and flexible control. However, not all fire damper actuators contain electronic control systems, and many traditional fire damper actuators rely only on temperature sensing elements and mechanical transmission devices to work.

The role of fire damper actuators

Fire separation: In the event of a fire, the fire damper actuator can quickly close the fire damper, cut off the path for the fire to spread, limit the fire to a smaller area, and prevent it from spreading to other floors or areas.

Protect ventilation systems: Fire damper actuators can also protect ventilation ducts and air conditioning systems from fire damage. When a fire occurs, the ventilation duct may become a channel for the spread of fire. By closing the fire damper, the path for the fire to enter the ventilation duct can be cut off, protecting the integrity and safety of the ventilation system.

Comply with regulatory requirements: According to the requirements of building fire regulations, many buildings must install fire dampers and their actuators. These devices are an important part of the building's fire protection system and are of great significance to ensuring the fire safety of the building.
